Another row

I got another row attached on the roses. I couldn't get a picture till today since the batteries in my camera went out and I didn't have any more.

Anyway, here's the next row, this is going to be really pretty:

Whew!

I spent nearly 3 days at it but I finally got it, at least I got it close enough. I've been trying to graph a filet dragon I saw a picture of so that I could make one and I finally got it. I'll put it back in the WIM pile until I get some WIPs out of the way but at least I have it when I get ready to make it. I don't know if I'm going to use thread or get yarn and make an afghan out of it. I'm thinking about making a black afghan with the dragon worked in gold, that would look awesome.

WIP Wednsday

It's still the same but maybe if I keep posting it I'll eventually get something done.

A Rose in Bloom afghan-size I hook
2 thread ties-a red one in a pineapple pattern-size 8 hook and a blue one in hdc-size 10 hook
A Cocoon sweater-size K hook
A 63 squares afghan-size H hook, could be anything from G to K, depending on pattern
A pair of crocheted socks in baby yarn, 2 colors of pink-size E hook
A pair of knit socks in RHSS camo-size 3 dpnA pair of knit socks in baby yarn-lilac-size 3 dpn
A pair of knit slipper socks in Caron SS-baby varigated-size 7 circ
A crochet tank top-size G hookA sherbet tank top-size H hook
A knit basketweave scarf-size 10½ straight needlesA crochet eyelet wrap-size J hook
A doily for the doily swap in Aunt Lydia's ecru-size 7 hook(hope that's ok with my swap partner, AL is the only thread I can afford)-I switched to a multicolor thread, hope she likes it.-finished.
Finish detangling that tote of yarn, almost there, just got tired of it, plus I need to finish that shawl and those ties. There's some more stuff in there that needs frogging too.
A beret from the Homespun I used on my black/white pineapple shawl.-size K hook
2 mini-shawls-black in size 0 hook and blue in size F hook, same pattern as the pineapple shawls I've been making only in lighter yarn and smaller hook. This is really an experiment to see what it'll do, it could flop or it could fly.
A knit dishcloth-size 8 needles
A crochet dishcloth-size H hook
A Fleuri Bag-needs to be lined and put together

UFOs I found that I want to finish:
An arrowhead afghan-if I can find the colors I'm using-size ? hook, will have to experiment, not sure if I used hook specified in pattern or went larger.
A scrap afghan in the step pattern-I'm calling it Around the World in 80 Scraps-it's in the quilt pattern called Around the World and I probably can find 80 different scraps to use in it.-size H hook
Also: A hat from Yarn Cat's site-Claire-almost finished
A Cats Afghan-using baby yarn and a H hook
All of these except my swap doily are still WIPs, I'll be working on finishing the rose afghan first then the cats afghan

I have 2 rows joined on the roses afghan so I guess that's progress.

My Roses 'Ghan

I guess since I have a WIP bar for my Roses afghan I should also post pics. I decided that each row would be 10% and that the border would be the last 10%.

This is the one that I posted about losing, so I had to start over. I was almost through making the roses anyway then I lost it at a shelter. I don't know if someone picked it up and kept it or what but I hope whoever has it now enjoys all those roses ;)

Here's the first finished row, these are the 6 colors the lady chose for this afghan:

Nifty little gadget

I ran across a post in the Blog forum of Crochetville of someone asking if anyone knew where they could get a percent bar to use to track progress on crochet projects. Someone responded with this. I played around with it on this blog and finally got it to do what I wanted. It's just under my profile on the right sidebar. I'm going to keep track of my Roses afghan and see how long it takes me to get it done since I've had to start over again. Each square will give me almost 2% so I'll probably stick in 1% now and then to make up for the difference.

We'll see how it goes, now that I have it in there changing it won't be a problem anymore.

I got to thinking that if I just count squares then I'm not counting putting them together so I'm going to give it about 10% when I get a row done and attached since I have 9 rows to do then the last 10% would be when I finish the edging.

Yeah, that sounds about right.

Just so you know

I've enabled word verification in my comments. What this means is that anyone commenting in my blogs has to pass word verification similar to when you created a blog before your comment will post. I did this in response to 3 spam comments in one of my posts, the word verification cuts down on automatic comment spam.

To enable this in your blog go to Dashboard>Settings>Comments then click yes at word verification.

Me, I'd rather go the extra step like that instead of getting spam.

Spamming my blog

I just deleted 3 comments from my previous entry because:

1: None of the comments had anything to do with what I posted.

2: While none of them were vulgar or anything like that, they were still advertising something and none of them had anything to do with crocheting. No I didn't click the links but I could tell anyway.

So, just so everyone knows, unless you have a specific comment to make on any of my entries, please do not comment in this blog, I much prefer my spam scrambled with eggs and not posted in my blog. Keep your comments strictly limited to the particular post you are commenting in and don't post links unless they're relevant to that post because I will not click them.

Yeah, it’s the same as last time and I haven’t had a lot of time to work on anything since Katrina either.

I’m really mad at myself, I had the roses to the Rose afghan I’m making in a bag, crocheting on them at the shelter I was volunteering at and I’ve misplaced it, lost it or someone got it. It happened last Friday and no one at the shelter has seen it so I’m going to have to get some more yarn and start all over. I’ll have to crochet nonstop to catch it back up and no stopping for any length of time until it’s back where I had it. I had almost the whole afghan in that bag, luckily I didn’t have all the yarn in there but I’m still going to need to buy more so I’ll have enough to finish it.
The squares don’t take long so I’ll just have to get off my lazy butt and crochet like I’ve never crocheted before.
