I went to my LYS and was looking at the yarn again. I really can't afford to get much of what they have but I wanted to get some to try the wristwarmers with. I found some Cascade superwash wool from Peru at a little over $10 for 100g. I think it's a sportweight yarn, it doesn't feel very heavy. One should be plenty to knit a pair of wristwarmers. I'll be using my dpn and doing them in the round so I won't have any seams to bother with. If they turn out I might write out how I do them.
I like the fact the wool is superwash, I hate handwashing things. I'll probably air dry them though.
